Employment and Insurance Facts

National Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS): 8.2 million unemployed; 5.6% unemployment rate (April 2004) BLS: 1.45 million manufacturing jobs lost since Bush took office (preliminary March 2004) CBPP*: Almost 1.5 million have exhausted their unemployment benefits (through April 2004) Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF): 15% of the US population is uninsured

 

Ohio BLS: 340,600 unemployed (April 2004): 5.8% unemployment rate (April 2004) BLS: 169,000 manufacturing jobs lost since Bush took office (prelim March 2004) CBPP*: 42,800 have exhausted their unemployment benefits (through April 2004) KFF: 12% of Ohio population are uninsured

 

Pennsylvania BLS: 330,100 unemployed (April 2004); 5.3% unemployment rate (April 2004) BLS: 159,000 manufacturing jobs lost (prelim March 2004) CBPP*: 69,600 have exhausted their unemployment benefits (through April 2004) KFF: 10% are uninsured
